Sharing What Recovery Has Taught Me About Getting Sober, Staying Sober, and Living Life Without Alcohol

I’ve been sober since February 8, 1999, and I’m still learning. I don’t have all the answers, and I’m not here to tell anyone how they have to recover. I share my own experiences with alcoholism and recovery, the lessons I’ve learned along the way, and the things that continue to help me stay sober and grow in recovery.

Recovery, for me, has become about much more than simply not drinking. It has meant learning how to deal with fear, resentment, relationships, expectations, difficult emotions, and everyday life without turning back to alcohol. It has also meant learning to get outside of myself, help other people, and keep doing the things that have helped me stay sober.

My hope is simple: that something I’ve experienced or learned might help you in your own journey.
